CURTAINS UP: Katharine Goeldner & Kyle Ketelsen in Concert - A Benefit for Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre’s Young Artist Program with Katharine Goeldner (mezzo-soprano) and Kyle Ketelsen (bass-baritone)

One chance only to hear this outstanding pair of artists sing opera, art songs and a selection of their favorites! Katharine (www.katharinegoeldner.com) & Kyle (www.kylek.net) , are both Iowa natives and alumni of the University of Iowa School of Music . They have performed at all major world opera houses including the Metropolitan Opera, and will be seen together in the 2010-2011 Lyric Opera of Chicago (www.lyricopera.org) production of Carmen.
Iowa Public Radio is broadcasting the concert LIVE on the Performance Iowa program with interviews of the singers and the conductor, Daniel Kleinknecht, and commentary by IPR broadcaster, Jacqueline Halbloom.

by Susan M. Yankee in January 2011 for Cedar Rapids & Marion elementary schools, and free public
performances in locations TBA. The one-act production written for children uses the opera music of
Mozart, Strauss, Bizet and others to emphasize eating well and exercising.
